The Picker receives, stores, distributes, and verifies materials as required to meet production and customer schedules by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Reads orders, pick lists, or requisitions to determine items to be moved or distributed.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing materials to verify information against orders or other records.
• Locates and moves material as required on pick lists or other documentation.
• Transfers and consolidates materials to new locations.
• Ensures material and locations are properly identified and marked.
• Performs necessary paperwork and enters records on computer.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Routes items to departments.
• Perform cycle counts.
• Operates lift trucks, man-lifts, or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist material to and from the stockroom or work area.
• Assists in other stockroom areas as needed.
• Handles physical disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with company policies.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Troubleshoot problems and report issues.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be on feet for up to 8-12 hours per shift.
• Use of hands and fingers to perform job function.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Starting Wage $20/hr
