Position Title: Piano Accompanist for Middle and Upper School Vocal Music

This Position
We are seeking a part-time teacher with an engaging and enthusiastic classroom presence who demonstrates a broad knowledge and skill in piano performance and pedagogy. This person should be comfortable accompanying beginning, intermediate and advanced level vocal ensembles and vocal students. Candidates should possess considerable artistic abilities and knowledge of aesthetics and music performance. Under the supervision of the full-time Middle and Upper School vocal music teacher, this person will provide piano accompaniment to Middle and Upper School music students during classroom rehearsal settings and performance opportunities.

Qualifications
Interested candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience. Previous teaching experience with the target age is also desired. A Master’s degree and independent school experience are preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- Work approximately 4 hrs per day, 20 hours per week, with some adjustments being made for performances. Regular attendance is required.
- The faculty work day will be dictated by the scheduled meeting times of Middle and Upper School vocal music courses and other related rehearsal and/or performance opportunities that require necessary instructional assistance.
- Work may include time indoors and outdoors.
- Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, talking, hearing and visually acuity.
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
