Job Description

Job Location: Cannon School - Concord, NC 28027Cannon School, an independent private school serving grades JK–12, seeks a skilled and collaborative part-time piano accompanist to support its choral program for students in grades 5–12.
The accompanist will work with seven choirs (not seven every day), providing musical support during rehearsals, performances, and special events. This role requires strong sight-reading skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with students.
Responsibilities:
- Accompany daily choir rehearsals and assist with sectional work as needed
- Collaborate with choral directors to support instruction and performance preparation
- Lead rehearsals and maintain continuity of instruction when directors are absent
- Perform at concerts and occasional evening or special events (including the lower school grades JK-4)
Schedule:
- Approximately 15-20 hours per week
- Typical hours: 7:30 AM – 11:40 AM on most school days
- Additional evening and occasional commitments for concerts and events

Qualifications
- Strong piano performance and sight-reading skills
- Experience accompanying choirs or vocal ensembles preferred
- Ability and confidence to lead rehearsals in a director’s absence
- Ability to work with middle and high school students
- Dependable, organized and flexible with a schedule
