The Physiotherapist role would include the assessment of clients referred to the BCBWP. Assessment includes physical function, balance, motor symptoms and awareness of the impact of non-motor symptoms on clients’ functional abilities. The Physiotherapist will support clients in accessing appropriate interventions that can mitigate disease progression, improve quality of life and improve function in everyday living. The clinical work may take place on campus (DMCBH, UBC Sports Med research gym, Osborne Gym) or off-site satellite project sites. The Physiotherapist would be involved in the mentoring and supervision of students. Understanding of team-based care and the importance of client centred care is important. The candidate must demonstrate a strong desire and focus to provide an optimal clinical experience for the client. Oversight of the intake process and striation of clients into various group programs will be another key component of this role. Maintaining and keeping detailed records in the program electronic medical records is critical.
