Job Description

Radiologic Technologist acts as a positive interface with all customers while contributing to a high performance, high quality work environment. Responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques producing high quality images for the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner. Ensures efficient operations, workflow, and patient safety through collaboration with the healthcare team. Secondary duties will be required to assist in patient care.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Performing all patient radiology exams as directed by medical provider of clinic in a manner as to successfully produce diagnostic images of area specified by provider.

2. Responsible for the capturing and sending of acquired images over to the GSH PACS system for radiologists to render an interpretation of images as well as the storage of such images.

Secondary Job Duties:

  1. Assist clinical nurse in the triaging and placement of walk-in patients in exam rooms or as directed by medical provider.
  2. Acquire lab specimens as directed in a manner consistent with acceptable lab protocols of GSH.
  3. As those that may be assigned by Supervisor.

Performance Requirements:

A. Mental: Visual ability and mental acuity to ensure accurate work, good attention to details, often required to work rapidly for periods of time under conditions of frequent interruptions. Functions in a role of leadership and role model for other clinical staff.

B. Physical: Physical effort (lift/carry up to 10 lbs.), however, due to the intensity of the required work, good physical condition and agility is necessary requiring bending, stooping, lifting, and ability to stand on feet and legs long periods of time as dictated by the job.

C. Skills & Abilities: Clinical skill set that is appropriate to the physician office environment such as taking blood pressure, triage of patients, answering patient’s requests via phone, completing required paperwork, and ability to train and communicate with other staff members.

D. Working Conditions: Clinical Office environment

E. Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Category: Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue.

Reports to: Clinic Administrator

Supervises: As delegated by Administrator Professional

Affiliations: Must be licensed as a radiology technician in the State of Indiana
