First Shift (United States of America)The Nuclear Medicine Section of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology of the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Physician. This position includes teaching residents, fellows, and graduate students at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Graduate Division of the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, University at Buffalo, State University of New York.
Roswell Park is an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center (one of only two in New York State) and a State University of New York at Buffalo affiliate, with academic appointments for staff. Our Nuclear Medicine Department is state-of-the-art, and presently staffed by three full-time nuclear medicine physicians. An additional satellite imaging facility includes a second PET/CT scanner as well as SPECT/CT. Future plans include the development of a second satellite facility that will include a PET/CT scanner. Roswell Park is committed to developing a premier Theranostics Program. A dedicated infusion center within Nuclear Medicine opened in March 2024 to facilitate the expansion of radiopharmaceutical therapies. The nuclear medicine team works collaboratively with surgical and medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists as well as with Roswell Park outreach programs to provide multidisciplinary care to our patients and increase services in our local community.
Roswell Park is in the heart of a thriving medical corridor in Buffalo, NY, a livable city on the shores of Lake Erie, with historic architecture, and charming, tree-lined neighborhoods. We are a short drive to vineyards in Niagara and the Finger Lakes as well as to the Toronto metropolitan area, in Canada. Additional features include a world-renowned symphony orchestra, art galleries, and dozens of universities and colleges, with national and international connections facilitated through the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
Required Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a license or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York; possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology or Angio/Interventional Radiology along with a Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the field of Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, or Angio/Interventional Radiology.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates must be a Board–Certified, Fellowship-trained Nuclear Medicine Physician. Board Certification in Radiology is a plus. Candidates should have clinical and research experience, interest in nuclear oncology, PET/CT and radionuclide therapy.
