As a full member of the WVU Health System(WVUHS), Weirton Medical Center (WMC) is part of a broad, integrated network of doctors, hospitals, clinics, and specialized institutes across West Virginia, Southwestern Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and Ohio. WMC is in the Northern panhandle of WV andservesnot only West Virginia butEasternOhio andthesuburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Two additional System hospitals provideserviceinthis region. Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV,is 30 miles south with 247 beds while Reynolds
Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV, 40 miles away, has 94 beds. Wheeling Hospital currently has two full-time Neurosurgeons, focusing on spine care and general neurosurgery. This position would align closely with the practice based inWheeling andcould potentially provide some call coverage at Wheeling as they pursue level 2 trauma status.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidatemusthave completedneurosurgery residency program and beboardeligible/certified in neurosurgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
