YesGeisinger is seeking a Board-Certified/Eligible Neonatologist to join a group of experienced neonatologists in the Geisinger Northeast Regional Neonatology Division, consisting of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, PA. The GWV service is centered around a private room Level 3 NICU and the GCMC service is centered around a private room Level 2 NICU; both NICUs are located immediately adjacent to their respective labor and delivery service. We participate in the Vermont-Oxford Network database and serve as a training site for medical students from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. An academic appointment is available through the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine based in Scranton, PA.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated excellent clinical and interpersonal skills as well as a high regard for teamwork. All neonatologists are expected to maximize patient satisfaction, participate in institutional committees, and work to improve systematic patient outcomes. Leadership opportunities are available for qualified applicants.

Job Duties:

  • Network NICU Coverage (Level 3 NICU; 14 beds, expanding to 20 beds & Level 2 NICU; 7 beds, under development)
  • 2000+ deliveries annually
  • Combination of physician in-house duties and offsite on-call (Team with in-house advanced practitioners)
  • No outpatient clinic
