HOURS: Primarily Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with other hours as needed.
The assigned territory for this position currently includes the New River Valley, Southwestern Virginia, Southside Virginia, and Southern West Virginia, requiring regular travel throughout the service area.
The Physician Liaison serves as a strategic ambassador for Carilion Clinic, fostering relationships with physicians, advanced care practitioners, and healthcare organizations throughout a multi-county Southwest Virginia territory. This role promotes collaboration, strengthens referral networks, and serves as a key resource for connecting clinicians with Carilion's specialty, hospital, and ambulatory services to improve patient access and support organizational growth. In partnership with physicians, advanced care practitioners, practice leaders, marketing consultants, and operational teams, the Physician Liaison identifies opportunities to streamline referral pathways, support clinician onboarding, and increase awareness of Carilion's clinical services and programs. Through proactive outreach and relationship management, this role helps align community healthcare needs with Carilion's resources while advancing strategic service line initiatives.
The Physician Liaison
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Healthcare Management, or a business-related field required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources or a customer service-related field required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and flexibility in a variety of situations. Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information and maintain confidentiality at all times. Demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and make decisions related to assigned responsibilities. Strong problem-solving skills required. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software applications required.

Compensation Range:
$63,377.60 - $95,076.80
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
