Job Description

Children’s Nebraska, with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is currently recruiting BC/BE Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians. We are seeking individuals who are fellowship trained in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Your academic and research interests are welcomed. Our 33-bed Emergency Department features a flexible, pod-based design with specialized capabilities to manage complex trauma patients, behavioral health patients, patients with highly contagious diseases, and immunocompromised patients. Children’s is an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center, and the ED patient population encompasses a wide range of illnesses and injuries.

Children’s Nebraska is a 225-bed nonprofit organization caring for children since 1948. Founded by the community and for the community, Children’s is the only full-service, pediatric specialty health center in Nebraska, providing expertise in more than 50 pediatric specialty services to children across a five-state region and beyond. As the region’s pediatric healthcare leader, we’re dedicated to exceptional care, advocacy, research, and education. Our state-of-the-art Hubbard Center for Children is home to Nebraska’s only Level IV regional Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Fetal Care Center, the state’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, a first-in-the-region Cardiac Care Unit, and more.

The Child Health Research Institute, an innovative partnership between UNMC and Children’s Nebraska, promotes research in pediatric health, consolidates research in pediatric disease from both hospitals into one institute, and advances knowledge about childhood health and diseases. It was established in 2017 and aims to assist investigators with start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science or translational research.

The health of a child is impacted by more than just the medical care they receive: it’s impacted by the community they live, learn, and play in. Our goal is to create communities that are safe and healthy and empower families to thrive. Whether we’re providing care for critically ill children or championing child-centered legislation, we strive to improve the lives of children, families, and entire communities.
