Lead and shape the future of Internal Medicine at one of West Virginia’s most respected health systems. This is a rare opportunity to combine clinical excellence with meaningful administrative leadership in a mission-driven community hospital.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

WVUHS Medical Group seeks a board-certified physician to serve as Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Continuity Clinic at Thomas Hospital. This physician leader will oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care, and collaborate with administrative and academic partners to advance the clinic's educational and community health mission. The position includes a blend of direct patient care, leadership responsibilities and residency education.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Internal Medicine
  • Active or eligible West Virginia medical licensure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to community and underserved patient populations
  • All Qualifications must be met by the time of appointment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and supervise continuity clinic operations and clinical staff
  • Ensure quality, safety, and patient satisfaction benchmarks are met
  • Provide mentorship to residents and advanced practice providers
  • Partner with GME leadership on training program integration
  • Drive quality improvement and evidence-based care initiatives
  • Engage in strategic planning with hospital administration
  • Maintain an active patient panel and provide direct care
