Physician Assistant, Surgical 1st Assistant

We are actively hiring for a full-time, permanent hire Physician Assistant, Surgical 1st Assistant role. This opportunity is ideal for a Physician Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being an integral part of a high-performing surgical team.

You’ll work closely with the Chief of Surgery, as well as Vascular and Oncology Surgeons—serving as a First Assist in the OR while also supporting patients before and after surgery in the clinical setting.

Position Responsibilities:

• Act as First Assist in the operating room
• Support pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care
• Participate in clinic responsibilities and patient management
• Assist with inpatient rounding as needed
• Coordinate communication with referring and primary care providers to ensure seamless continuity of care

Requirements

• Current Physician Assistant license
• National Certification (NCCPA)
• Valid DEA license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Confidence working in both surgical and clinical environments
