Job Description

Location: Waco, TX (Hillcrest)
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (~130 hours/month)
Clinic Hours:

  • Mon–Fri: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Sat–Sun: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    Compensation: $60–$80/hour (based on experience) + bonus
    Benefits: Full benefits package available

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Waco (Hillcrest). This role is ideal for clinicians who value autonomy, variety, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

You’ll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages
  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
  • Order and interpret labs and imaging
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions clearly
  • Document care accurately in the EHR
  • Code and bill services appropriately
  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Texas license (NP or PA)
  • Board certification (AANP/ANCC for NP, NCCPA for PA)
  • Active DEA (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to treat all ages
  • Active BLS certification
  • EHR proficiency
  • Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (covered by NextCare)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior urgent care, ER, or fast-track experience
  • Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)
  • Experience with initial X-ray interpretation
