We’re looking for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant as a first assist in gynecologic and robotic cases. This role involves primary management of surgical patients in the operating room in conjunction with surgical faculty and staff at CUH. The robotic surgery APP will focus on assisting robotic surgery cases as the bedside assistant with the operating surgeon and surgical trainee in the surgical console. This APP will also support all gynecologic services in OR cases, including gyn oncology. This role combines clinical expertise with proficiency in operating robotic systems, contributing to enhanced patient outcomes, efficiency and innovation in surgical care. Scheduled Hours: Monday – Friday daytime hrs. No nights, weekends, or call.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Graduate of a master’s degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program. OR
Master’s degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
Licensure and Certification
Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required. Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. OR
Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) required for Nurse Practitioners.
Current Acute Care Life Support ( ACLS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
