GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the general guidance of the medical director, the Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with diseases and adverse health conditions following the written guidelines approved by the department.
The Troy General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team delivers comprehensive perioperative care across a broad range of surgical subspecialties in a highly collaborative, patient-centered environment. The APP team plays a key role in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management. Responsibilities include first assisting in the operating room across multiple specialties, including general surgery, colorectal, plastics, breast, urology, gynecology, thoracic, vascular, and pediatric procedures. Additional responsibilities include pre-operative order management, coordination of post-operative care, and performance of bedside procedures, such as PICC line placement. The APP team works closely with surgeons and other interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care delivery, with a strong commitment to supporting patient access, continuity of care, and optimal surgical outcomes.
This position will be mostly days but afternoons and nights as needed.
