Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team. The PA will deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a physician while exercising a high degree of clinical autonomy. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures.
  • Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
  • Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.
  • Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
  • Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Assists physician with emergency treatments and more complex procedures.

Compensation: $93,037 - $125,64 annually

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competency in providing care across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow established clinical protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and one year of clinical training; or
  • Completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program (requiring two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of post-program clinical training.
  • Current state licensure based on successful completion of the certifying examination.
  • Ongoing compliance with continuing education requirements, including 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and successful completion of the recertification examination every six years.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Regular exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids, requiring adherence to safety and infection-control protocols.
