Finger Lakes Health is seeking an experienced Physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Recruiter to lead the recruitment and retention of physicians and advanced practice providers across our health system.

This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-driven recruitment professional with at least two years of physician recruitment experience who thrives on building partnerships, developing strategic recruitment plans, and helping shape the future of healthcare in our communities.

In this role, you'll collaborate with hospital leadership, medical staff, residency and fellowship programs, healthcare professionals, and community partners to attract exceptional providers while creating a positive candidate experience from initial outreach through onboarding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Applicants actively pursuing a bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience specifically recruiting physicians and/or advanced practice providers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle provider recruitment.
  • Experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies for highly specialized healthcare professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of physician and APP recruitment practices and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, executives, healthcare leaders, candidates, and external partners.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate provider recruitment activities, candidate interviews, site visits, and recruitment events.

What You'll Do

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for physicians and advanced practice providers, managing searches from requisition through hire.
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment plans based on organizational, service line, and specialty-specific workforce needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residency and fellowship program directors, professional organizations, recruiting firms, and provider candidates.
  • Source, screen, interview, and evaluate physician and APP candidates.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews, site visits, itineraries, and follow-up communications.
  • Develop and monitor recruitment and retention strategies to strengthen provider engagement and long-term retention.
  • Analyze recruitment trends, provider turnover, and workforce needs and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with hospital leadership and medical staff to ensure effective communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate provider onboarding, orientation, relocation assistance, licensing, credentialing support, and payer enrollment activities.
  • Facilitate locum tenens coverage, including contracts, scheduling, travel, housing, liability coverage, and invoice processing.
  • Assist with physician and APP integration into the organization and local community.
  • Prepare recruitment reports and provide updates for Strategic Physician Recruitment meetings.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and documentation.
  • Provide backup support for Medical Staff Credentialing functions as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of physician and/or APP recruitment experience.
  • Experience recruiting physicians across multiple medical specialties.
  • Experience with physician contract negotiation and retention initiatives.
  • Knowledge of physician credentialing, licensing, privileging, and payer enrollment processes.
  • Experience working with residency and fellowship programs.
  • Experience with locum tenens recruitment and management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Finger Lakes Health is comprised of Geneva General Hospital, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, The Homestead at Soldiers & Sailors, Huntington Living Center and the Living Centers at Geneva – North and South.
