Physical Therapy (Outpatient)
The Physical Therapy Department provides rehabilitative services focused on improving mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life. Physical therapists work with patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or other conditions that affect movement and physical performance. Through individualized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions, the team helps patients regain independence and achieve their highest level of function.
The Physical Therapy Technician works under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the delivery of patient care. Responsibilities include preparing patients and treatment areas, assisting with exercises and equipment, transporting patients, and maintaining an organized and safe therapy environment. The technician may also assist with clerical duties and the orientation of new employees and volunteers while providing appropriate support to patients with cognitive, visual, hearing, or mobility limitations.
Assists PT/PTA staff with patient treatments and exercises as directed.
Prepares patients, equipment, and treatment areas for therapy services.
Safely assists with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation.
Observes and reports patient concerns or changes in condition to the PT/PTA.
Cleans, organizes, stocks, and maintains treatment areas and equipment.
Identifies and reports malfunctioning equipment.
Assists with patient statistics, processing orders, front desk coverage, and clerical duties.
Provides positive and professional customer service.
Follows hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
