Job Description

Serves as Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at the Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Performs a wide range of complex PTA duties requiring an advanced practical knowledge of physical therapy, evidence-based medicine and data collection to perform specific aspects of evaluations and interventions.

Responsibilities

Duties

    • Recommend various modalities of physical therapy, as prescribed, to include diathermy, hydrotherapy, massage, electrotherapy, ultrasound and therapeutic exercise.
    • Ensure treatment plan is designed to maximize results in promotion of healing and pain relief while ultimately improving the patient’s functional independence.
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for the patient’s rehabilitation and reintegration needs.
    • Attend pertinent meetings as requested by the supervisory therapist and/or clinic director.
    • Maintain treatment areas, administrative area, and personal spaces in a safe, orderly manner.
    • Perform administrative duties as required, including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling, and template management.
    • Assist supervisor in making decisions relative to administrative responsibilities in the areas of supply, equipment and personnel.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:

One year of specialized experience which includes implementing physical therapy treatment plans, instructing on physical therapy programs, or providing status reports

*A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States is required.
