Job Description

The Physical Therapy Aide provides supportive, non-clinical services under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with Washington state regulations. The primary focus of this role is to maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment, prepare treatment areas, assist with patient transport, and perform administrative duties to ensure seamless clinic operations

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework in kinesiology, exercise science, or pre-physical therapy preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong commitment to patient care and customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry, scheduling, and electronic medical record (EMR) navigation.
  • Compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations regarding unauthorized clinical tasks for unregistered/unlicensed personnel.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Clean, sanitize, and organize treatment tables, equipment, and therapy areas between patient sessions to maintain strict infection control protocols.
  • Prepare heat packs, cold packs, and specific exercise equipment as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Escort patients from the waiting area to treatment rooms, ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Perform administrative tasks including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing clinical laundry (towels, linens).
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and notify management when restocking is required.
  • Safely assist patients during transfers, ambulation, and positioning under the direct line-of-sight supervision of a licensed therapist.
