Under the direction of licensed Physical and Occupational Therapists, the Physical Therapy Aide assists with implementing treatment programs, administering therapy modalities as directed, documenting patient activities, and supporting daily clinic operations. The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist Physical and Occupational Therapists with patient treatment programs.
- Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for patient sessions.
- Administer therapy modalities as directed by the treating clinician.
- Accurately document patient records, treatment activities, and progress notes as instructed.
- Observe and report patient symptoms, concerns, and responses to treatment.
- Assist patients with exercises, mobility activities, and therapeutic equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
- Support front desk operations and patient flow as needed.
- Follow all safety, infection control, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- One year of healthcare, rehabilitation, physical therapy, fitness, or related experience preferred.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional coursework in healthcare, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently lift, move, and/or transport up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to position and assist patients safely during treatment activities.
- Ability to operate computers and standard office and medical equipment.
- Visual ability to observe patients, equipment, and documentation accurately.
Work Environment
This position is based in an outpatient clinical setting with frequent interaction with patients, providers, and staff. The role requires working with individuals who may be experiencing discomfort, injury, or physical limitations. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and focused on providing exceptional patient care.
