Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans and assist residents in their rehabilitation journey.

Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA Responsibilities

• Assist in Assessments: Assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out treatment plan and gathering objective data for Section GG collection during Annual, Quarterly, Falls, and Significant Change screenings.
• Treatment Support: Implement treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist, including exercises, modalities, and mobility training.
• Monitoring: Observe residents' performance and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident progress and any interventions provided. Comfortable and knowledgeable with Point of Service(POS) care delivery and documentation. Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of resident evaluations, treatment plans, daily and progress notes, HMO/Manage care progress updates in EMRs (Net Health/PCC).
• Education: Educate residents, family members, and care staff on safe mobility techniques and exercises for continued progress. Conducts remote check-in through remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) with discharged patients to home or next level of care.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, following the guidance of the Physical Therapist and in cooperation with other rehab staff.

Physical Therapist Assistant, PTAQualifications:

• State licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• EMR and MS office applications.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Knowledge of Section GG data collection and documentation requirements.
