Physical Therapist Assistantsadminister Physical Therapy services for patients includinginfants, children, adolescents,adultsand geriatrics undersupervisionof a licensed Physical Therapist.Theyhelp provide much needed follow up visits in the acute care setting and are needed toensuredaily visits with the orthopedic,surgicaland neurologic patient population, which is vital for patient throughput.In this role,you can help provide apositionpatient experience for those going through rehab and recovery.

A caregiver in this position worksTuesday, Thursday and Friday from8:00AM –4:30PMWeekend coverage will berequired1-2 times per month
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Administer patient centered Physical Therapy treatment incorporating evidence-based practice and skilled techniques to achieveoptimalfunctional outcomes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Observe,communicateand document patient progress and response to treatment.
Plan,organizeand implement individualized therapeutic programs with patient/family, incorporating evidence-based practice.
Provide education on Physical Therapy related subjects to patients, clients, caregivers, hospitalpersonneland the community.
Act as a clinical instructor orparticipatein the education and evaluation of students.
Act as a resource for volunteers and observers.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate's Degreeor certificate
Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
State licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in a clinical area
Experience with direct patient contact
