How You’ll Make an Impact

As a school-based Physical Therapist, you’ll help students develop and use functional skills that support their participation in education. You will:

  • Make findings meaningful. Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear recommendations that support participation and independence.
  • Connect therapy to educational goals. Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to develop evidence-based interventions that address each student’s needs and support functional goals within the educational environment.
  • Provide individualized services. Deliver direct physical therapy or supervise licensed Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in providing services aligned with students’ IEP goals.
  • Use data to guide services. Collect, analyze, and document student progress, maintaining accurate records that support IEP reviews and ongoing service planning.
  • Advocate and collaborate. Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to support students’ needs and special education programs.

What You’ll Bring
