Physical Therapist Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist (PT), you will provide comprehensive rehabilitation services and individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform initial evaluations and ongoing patient assessments to determine therapy needs and functional limitations
- Develop and implement customized physical therapy treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals
- Utilize evidence-based therapy techniques to restore mobility, improve strength, and reduce pain
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as heat therapy, ultrasound, and other physical therapy treatments
- Educate patients and families on injury prevention, mobility strategies, and home exercise programs
- Evaluate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices when appropriate
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize rehabilitation outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records
- Supervise and guide Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), therapy aides, and students
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver quality patient care

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Physical Therapist License in State
- Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire
- critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
