About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Physical Security Specialist to support the 25th Attack Group at Shaw Air Force Base. The 25th ATKG conducts around-the-clock global MQ-9 Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) operations, and this role is essential to maintaining secure facilities, protecting sensitive information, and supporting overall mission readiness.

This position is ideal for a security professional with experience working in secure government or military environments who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily physical security operations for secure and classified facilities, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs)
  • Assist with administering and maintaining security programs for classified workspaces and personnel
  • Maintain visitor control procedures and support access management for secure facilities
  • Help maintain security documentation, directives, and program records in compliance with government and Air Force requirements
  • Coordinate with internal security offices, higher headquarters, and government agencies to support facility accreditation and compliance efforts
  • Assist with maintaining facility security documentation, including Fixed Facility Checklists (FFC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Action Procedures (EAPs), and access rosters
  • Support the management and maintenance of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), including coordinating vendor maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and escorting technicians as required
  • Maintain badge records, facility access authorizations, and alarm access lists for secure facilities
  • Assist with inspections, inventories, accountability procedures, and proper handling of classified materials
  • Support periodic self-inspections, security audits, and compliance reviews
  • Assist with alarm testing programs and ensure required testing and reporting requirements are completed on schedule
  • Support investigations and reporting related to security incidents or violations
  • Prepare recurring status reports for leadership regarding security program compliance and facility readiness
  • Coordinate with base security personnel and government security offices to ensure facilities remain compliant with applicable regulations and standards
  • Complete required online and in-person security training as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a TS/SCI or other classified facility environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in physical security, industrial security, special security, or a related security discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SCIF operations or secure government facilities
  • Familiarity with ICD 705 standards and physical security requirements
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection systems, access control systems, and alarm monitoring procedures
  • Experience supporting inspections, compliance programs, or classified material handling
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively across multiple teams and agencies

Additional Information:

  • Occasional travel may be required for security-related training or certification courses
  • Candidates must complete required training within established timelines after hire
  • This position supports a mission-critical operational environment requiring professionalism, reliability, and strict attention to detail
