The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, deployment, and operational support of enterprise physical security systems across all campuses. This position provides technical expertise in access control, video management, biometric authentication, key management, and integrated security technologies while ensuring the continued reliability and availability of critical security infrastructure.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, deployment, and operational support of enterprise physical security systems across all campuses. This position provides technical expertise in access control, video management, biometric authentication, key management, and integrated security technologies while ensuring the continued reliability and availability of critical security infrastructure.

Working under the direction of the Director of Networking & Infrastructure and the Security Systems Engineer, this position serves as the primary operational resource responsible for day-to-day system administration, incident response, preventative maintenance, construction support, and technical documentation. The role enables strategic initiatives to continue uninterrupted by providing dedicated engineering capacity for operational support and enterprise deployments.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Enterprise Operations
• Administer and maintain enterprise access control, video management, biometric, and key management systems.
• Perform system health monitoring, preventative maintenance, and routine operational support.
• Respond to system outages, alarms, and production incidents.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and integration issues.
• Coordinate corrective actions with internal departments and external vendors.
• System Administration
• Configure and maintain Lenel OnGuard.
• Support Milestone XProtect Corporate.
• Administer Traka intelligent key management systems.
• Support Morpho/Idemia biometric authentication systems.
• Configure security devices including access controllers, readers, cameras, biometric readers, and associated infrastructure.
• Project Support
• Assist with new campus deployments and expansion projects.
• Participate in system upgrades and lifecycle replacement initiatives.
• Perform device commissioning, validation, and acceptance testing.
• Support construction teams during project execution.
• Assist with cutovers and production migrations.
• Documentation & Asset Management
• Maintain accurate enterprise inventories of physical security assets.
• Update system documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
• Track software licensing, firmware revisions, and hardware lifecycle information.
• Support audit preparation and compliance activities.
• Incident Response
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours emergency response.
• Provide technical support during enterprise security incidents.
• Coordinate with vendors during major outages.
• Document incident findings and corrective actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to travel between company campuses as required.
• Adhere to Company information security policies and standards by safeguarding confidential data, protecting access credentials, completing all required trainings on time, and taking immediate action to report potential security threats or breaches. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field preferred.
• Experience administering enterprise physical security systems.
• Knowledge of access control, IP video, networking, and integrated security technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and enterprise software applications.
• Additional preferred qualifications:
• Experience with Lenel OnGuard.
• Experience with Milestone XProtect.
• Experience with Traka intelligent key systems.
• Experience with Morpho/Idemia biometric systems.
• Experience with Mercury hardware.
• Experience supporting enterprise security infrastructure in a data center or mission-critical environment.
• Familiarity with VMware, Windows Server, SQL Server, and enterprise networking concepts.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $72,087 - $108,131.
