Job Description

Analyzes physical security incidents and escalation of physical security events. Evaluates and makes changes to physical security tactics throughout the bank, developing and implementing physical security standards, policies, and procedures. Designs and conducts physical security awareness training for employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Security

  • Provides information to the branches, divisions/departments regarding general physical security administration, physical protection, personnel security and investigations through policy recommendation, procedural reviews, and ongoing training.
  • Assist with the effective operation and maintenance of all of the Bank's physical security equipment and devices and evaluates security equipment (protective devices, alarm systems, etc.) for future implementation.
  • Coordinates the installation, maintenance, and operational use of all security devices in all facilities.
  • Coordinates control of facility access, guard and surveillance activities, alarm systems and safety.
  • Performs thorough investigations of breaches of physical security and makes reports, as necessary.
  • Coordinates bank robbery investigations with various law enforcement agencies.
  • Provides post-robbery support to affected branches.
  • May conduct branch assessments to assist the Physical Security Officer in assessing the effectiveness of physical security for the bank.
  • Conducts random review of branch reports, including video, to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Works with Physical Security Officer to ensure compliance with FDIC/FFIEC and other regulations, guidelines, and operational reviews.
  • Maintains tools to assist branches in avoiding exceptions and preventing fraud.
  • Assists in completing semi-annual review of security access for employees.
  • Provides content to the Teller & CSR manuals regarding security & loss prevention procedures.

Procedural Administration

  • Provides operational procedures and communication support in conjunction with the rollout of new security products/procedures.
  • Assist with updates to policy and procedure manuals as appropriate including the Bank’s Security Manual/policy.
  • Performs extensive testing of security system enhancements prior to placing in production environment; communicate changes and assist in the development and delivery of training. Provides on-site support of system conversions, when needed.
  • Communicates security updates to branches and Retail Administration.
  • Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Excellent written/oral communications and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with and work effectively with diverse groups of people across departments/divisions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, networking, and internet applications.
  • Very strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear understanding of the division and company goals, communicating and supporting them to others.
  • Experience in branch banking with thorough knowledge of bank operations and deposit regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and manage multiple tasks in a self-directed, proactive manner.
  • Must obtain professional certifications as required.

Compensation:

Physical Security Specialist $28.46 - $42.70 per hour
Sr. Physical Security Specialist: $32.60 - $48.93 per hour

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position based in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
