Helping others improve and turn their lives around – there’s no better feeling. It’s what we do for thousands of people at more than 150 sites across the UK. Be a part of it.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Physical Health & Resuscitation Lead Nurse to join our Health Protection Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with a strong background in physical healthcare, emergency care, critical care, or resuscitation practice to drive improvements in physical health outcomes across our services. You will play a key role in developing and embedding best practice, supporting staff development, and ensuring high standards of care for the people we support.

As a national lead, you will influence practice across the organisation, delivering education, coaching teams, analysing performance data, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in the recognition and management of physical health deterioration and resuscitation.

What You'll Be Doing

You will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based physical health and resuscitation initiatives across Cygnet.
  • Promote high-quality physical healthcare and support the early recognition and management of deteriorating patients.
  • Coordinate and monitor resuscitation and physical health key performance indicators and support sustained service improvement.
  • Deliver and oversee physical health and resuscitation education programmes for clinical staff.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations Directors, Regional Nurse Directors, Medical Teams, Service Managers, Learning & Development, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on national guidance, best practice standards and Resuscitation Council UK recommendations.
  • Support incident reviews, after-action reviews and improvement planning following serious incidents.
  • Contribute to audits, research, quality improvement initiatives and organisational reporting.
  • Develop educational resources, simulation-based learning opportunities and innovative training programmes.
  • Act as a visible clinical leader, supporting and coaching staff within clinical environments.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN).
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Minimum three years post-registration experience.
  • Significant experience within acute, emergency, critical care, or general physical healthcare settings.
  • Experience managing long-term physical health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, obesity or epilepsy.
  • Experience delivering education and training to clinical staff.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to drive change across large teams.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, coaching and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient safety principles.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motivated individual who:

  • Is passionate about improving physical health outcomes within mental health and learning disability services.
  • Can inspire and influence colleagues through clinical expertise.
  • Is confident working autonomously and managing multiple priorities.
  • Has a strong commitment to education, quality improvement and professional development.
  • Is dedicated to delivering safe, effective and person-centred care.
