Physical Education Teacher for Summer Program
Full-time 6-day position in June 2026
Description
The Spence School’s after school program, Second Act, seeks an experienced and passionate elementary level Physical Education teacher for Second Act Summer, the school’s 1-week auxiliary program for Spence students entering Kindergarten through Grade 2. The ideal candidate will deliver a fun, structured, and developmentally appropriate curriculum that children will enjoy and remember.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of PE-related games and activities to classes of 12-18 students each day
- Differentiate to meet the needs, interests and abilities of diverse learning styles
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment
- Ability to jump in and perform non-PE duties as needed, such as lunch duty or chaperoning

Qualifications

Qualifications
- BA or BS with sustained experience teaching young children in a PE setting
- Approaches work with energy, kindness, maturity, curiosity, flexibility and a sense of humour
- Finds joy in working with children and in school life
- Demonstrates cultural competency and skills engaging with and learning from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Must be available to work for the entire 6 days of the program [June 18, June 22 - 26]
- Preferred: Advanced Degree or equivalent experience
Salary Range
- $250 per day for 6 days
