The Prevention Health and Wellness department (PHW) Program is hiring 6 PHW student advisory group members for the 2025-2026 academic year. We are looking for members who want to create a safer Bothell campus, who want to improve services to survivors, prevention programming efforts on campus and who are looking to find ways to give back in an impactful way. This position is open to currently enrolled UW Bothell and Cascadia College students. We encourage you to apply no matter what your major, year, or background is!
The Student Advisory Group will serve students by providing crucial feedback and suggestions around services and resources to the greater Prevention Health and Wellness department. This important work will be synthesized and submitted to the appropriate departments on campus to each quarter to create pathways for change on campus. This is a low commitment role where students are required to work 12 hours per quarter, which can be beneficial to a student's busy schedule. Members will meet in-person for 3-4 two hour meetings per quarter facilitated by PHW staff, with opportunities to provide education and outreach on campus. Outreach and Education opportunities might entail tabling, student group collaboration, and events associated with sex and gender-based violence awareness months Additionally, members will have a chance to develop professional skills around leadership, communication, and collaboration through on-going rolling trainings throughout the academic year. Please note: This is NOT a Peer Educator or Advocate position. Though this position has some opportunity for peer to peer education, this is a low commitment position with the primary goal to provide feedback to the PHW department about resources, issues on campus, and suggestions how to support students impacted by sexual and interpersonal violence.
