Every licence application represents a person, business, landlord or organisation relying on the Council for an efficient and professional service. As a Licensing and Enforcement Processing Officer, you will help support services that protect residents, promote responsible landlords/agents and maintain high standards across Brent.

Working within Brent Council’s Licensing and Enforcement team, you will process applications, maintain accurate records, respond to enquiries and work with colleagues and applicants to ensure cases are handled promptly and correctly.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and has an eye for detail, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.

In this role you will be:

• Process a wide range of Private Rented Sector (PRS) licence applications from initial submission through to issue, carrying out administrative and eligibility checks, verifying information and ensuring applications meet statutory and Council requirements.
• Provide a proactive, responsive service to applicants and licence holders, guiding landlords, tenants and members of the public through the licensing process, resolving enquiries and providing clear advice and support through telephone, written and face-to-face channels.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date licensing records, carrying out relevant checks with internal and external agencies, following agreed procedures and ensuring information, fees, certificates and supporting documentation are correctly recorded and managed.
• Work collaboratively with dedicated colleagues and partner services to progress applications and service requests, identify issues requiring further action, and ensure urgent or complex matters are referred appropriately and dealt with effectively.
