You will be responsible for building and scaling backend systems that handle high volumes of traffic, real-time tracking, and attribution across multiple advertising platforms. This role is ideal for someone who understands both backend engineering and the technical ecosystem behind digital advertising and tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using PHP and Node.js
- Build and optimize tracking infrastructure, including:
- Postback systems (S2S / server-to-server)
- Conversion tracking pipelines
- Pixel integrations (client-side & server-side)
- Integrate with major advertising platforms such as Facebook Ads and Google Ads
- Develop APIs and services for handling real-time click and conversion data
- Implement event-driven architectures using AWS SQS for queueing, processing, and scaling tracking events
- Ensure reliable processing of high-volume events with retry, batching, and failure handling strategies
- Ensure accurate multi-channel attribution and data consistency
- Work with high-scale systems processing large volumes of events
- Deploy, manage, and optimize applications on AWS, including:
- EC2
- Elastic Beanstalk
- SQS
- Implement monitoring, logging, and debugging for tracking systems
- Collaborate with marketing and data teams to improve performance and data accuracy
- Maintain code quality and workflows using GitHub
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in PHP and Node.js
- Solid understanding of online tracking ecosystem, including:
- Postbacks (S2S)
- Tracking pixels
- Attribution models
- Click identifiers (SubIDs, GCLID, etc.)
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Facebook Ads and Google Ads
- Experience in performance marketing / affiliate / ad tech environments
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including:
- EC2
- Elastic Beanstalk
- SQS (queue-based architectures, async processing)
- Strong experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Solid database knowledge (MySQL or similar)
- Experience handling high-volume, real-time systems
- Proficiency with GitHub
Nice to Have
- Experience with server-side tracking (Conversions API, advanced S2S setups)
- Familiarity with tracking platforms (Voluum, Binom, RedTrack, etc.)
- Knowledge of event streaming or messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Docker / containerization experience
