Job Description

The role

We are looking for a Still Life Cutout Photographer to join our amazing in-house Photo Studio team at NEXT. In this fast-paced role, you will make a real difference by delivering high-quality, commercial imagery that brings our products to life for the NEXT customer.

You will work collaboratively with other photographers and receive clear direction from your Senior Photographer and Creative Lead, ensuring you have the guidance and support needed to maintain our creative vision. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic environment where you will be encouraged to grasp new information quickly, innovate, and continuously develop your skills.

What you'll take on

  • Delivering exceptional still life cutout photography that aligns perfectly with our brand principles, style guides, and product briefs.
  • Collaborating with the wider studio team and communicating effectively with your Senior Photographer to establish and achieve clear, recognisable goals.
  • Researching new trends across social media platforms to keep our aesthetics inspired and ensure we remain ahead of the competition.
  • Utilising generative AI and prompt engineering to streamline concept development and image generation.
  • Getting hands-on with daily studio setups, which includes safely moving heavy interior products, performing general kit maintenance, and keeping the studio tidy.
  • Working flexibly across different projects, which may involve travelling to other NEXT studios or working on location when required.

What you'll bring

  • Relevant professional experience in e-commerce and editorial photography, ideally gained within a large, high-volume creative studio environment.
  • Expert technical knowledge of still life photography and complex lighting techniques.
  • Exceptional proficiency in industry-standard software, specifically Capture One, Adobe Photoshop, and Mac OS.
  • An uncompromising eye for detail and quality control to ensure all commercial imagery is consistently delivered to the highest standard.
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive attitude, enabling you to adapt easily to a high-pressure, rapidly changing retail environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the maturity to take creative direction and the confidence to train others on photographic techniques.
  • Excellent organisational and workload management skills to handle high daily shot counts efficiently.
  • A full UK driving license, alongside a strong portfolio or website showcasing your relevant photographic work.
