The Pritzker Administration is seeking a photographer who will be responsible for photos and video production tasks, including camera operation, shooting, and setting up lighting for shoots, and archiving photos for the Governor of Illinois. The role includes pre-production planning, shooting, and post-production editing. The Photographer will collaborate closely with the digital and communications team to create compelling visual content to support communications and digital goals. This role will involve a large amount of travel.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Report to Deputy Chief of Staff for Digital Media
  • Plan and execute high-quality photography in support of the Governor of Illinois’ communications and digital strategy
  • Operate and maintain professional camera equipment, lenses, and accessories for both still and video production
  • Perform post-production tasks such as photo selection, color correction, retouching, and basic video editing
  • Collaborate closely with the digital and communications team to align visual content with messaging, branding, and campaign goals
  • Travel extensively throughout Illinois and beyond to document events, appearances, and official engagements
  • Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in professional photography, including event, portrait, and on-location shooting
  • Proficiency in operating professional camera systems, lenses, and related photographic equipment
  • Strong understanding of lighting techniques for a variety of environments, including indoor, outdoor, and low-light settings
  • Experience with photo editing and post-production software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop or similar)
  • Ability to manage large volumes of digital assets, including organizing, archiving, and retrieving photos efficiently
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Film, Communications, or equivalent professional experience preferred
