8 - Day (United States of America)Responsible for obtaining venous, arterial, and capillary blood samples from patients and transporting the samples to the laboratory. Ability to perform venipunctures and other blood collection procedures. Availability, willingness and experience in performing special procedures (such as; assisting physicians in special procedures, special nursery procedures, or preparation of reference lab samples). Possible exposure to contagious disease. Continuous exposure to blood, patient specimens, and needles. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Shift Supervisor or Manager (Clinical Section), responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
