Collects appropriate blood specimens from patients using proper technique. Follows all standard precautions and infection control policies and procedures. Acknowledges patients using appropriate customer service techniques. Must remain in full time status for six months.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
High school diploma or equivalent. CPR certification preferred. Familiarity with science courses and/or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Good communication skills and manual dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Clinical setting – Exposure Class I – Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Exposure to biological and chemical hazards, latex, sharps, and ergonomic hazards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium work: Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting a maximum of 50 pounds. Will require the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range: $17.85 - $25.90
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
