You would be primarily responsible to obtain blood specimens, process laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and to provide patient information to the appropriate care giver. Ensures accurate and complete patient registration. Flexibility to cover Physician Blood Draw locations as needed.
What you will do:
Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
Flexible to cover other sites when necessary
Work Hours/Shift:
• 40 hours, Days; Hours may change slightly due to location.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of phlebotomy program
Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting.
Knowledge in the use of information system
Strong communication skills
Ability to effectively work and communicate with patients, staff and outside providers
Ability to take initiative and work alone
