Department: Direct Care

Reporting To: Jennifer Calvert

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 / hour


Schedule: Full Time | 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

What You'll Do In This Role:
Make a meaningful impact with every interaction. As a phlebotomist, you’ll provide safe, compassionate, and professional blood draws and specimen collection while coordinating clinical services for PACE participants. Your attention to detail and gentle approach will ensure accurate, timely lab results for older adults with complex medical needs, mobility challenges, and cognitive impairments. As part of the interdisciplinary team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting quality care and helping participants receive the services they need with comfort and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support & Participant Care:

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to manage participant flow and attend daily huddles and meetings
  • Prepare and escort participants for blood draws, explain procedures, and provide reassurance as needed
  • Collect and handle lab materials, verify participant information, and accurately label specimens
  • Assist with laboratory requisitions, specimen collection, and documentation in medical records
  • Monitor and report changes in participant condition to appropriate clinical team members

Clinic Operations & Administrative Support:

  • Coordinate and manage daily blood draw appointments, including confirmations and rescheduling
  • Communicate with participants, families, team members, and external providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use
  • Monitor, maintain, and order blood draw supplies
  • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, routing calls, and managing documentation (faxing, scanning, copying)

Other Duties:

  • Work in the clinic and complete home visits as assigned.
  • Adhere to all Huron Valley PACE policies, rules, and regulations.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • One (1) year or more of phlebotomy experience preferred; experience with geriatric or medically complex populations in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting strongly preferred.High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program required.
  • Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) or completion of certification within ninety (90) days.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures and equipment, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and basic clinical tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage patient care and clerical duties efficiently.
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work.
