Philanthropy Specialist – Open-Ended Contract

A leading hospital in the Houston Medical Center is seeking a Philanthropy Specialist for an open-ended contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will support fundraising and institutional advancement initiatives by managing donor relationships, coordinating campaigns and events, assisting with grant development, and maintaining accurate donor records.

Contract Opportunity

This is an open-ended contract opportunity with a large healthcare organization in the Houston Medical Center area.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community leaders.
• Research prospective grant opportunities and assist with grant proposals, applications, reporting, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, special events, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.
• Track donor activity, contributions, communications, and engagement metrics
• Maintain accurate and confidential donor records and ensure timely data entry and reporting.
• Assist with donor stewardship activities, acknowledgments, correspondence, and recognition programs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support fundraising and institutional advancement goals.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials related to fundraising activities and donor engagement.
• Provide administrative and organizational support for development and philanthropy programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• At least one year of clerical, administrative, organizational, office, or related support experience.
• Experience or knowledge in fundraising, development, grant writing, event planning, or donor relations is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Experience working with CRM or donor database systems.
