About the Job

The Philanthropy Events Coordinator is a full time, exempt level position that works closely with the Women’s Philanthropy (WP) Co-Chairs and WP Committee to curate meaningful educational, engagement, volunteer and philanthropic opportunities for the women in the Jewish community. Additionally, this role will play a lead in planning and executing development programs and events – ranging from boutique donor experiences to large scale signature fundraising events – and other Shalom Austin special events as appropriate. This position will work closely with lay leaders to strengthen engagement and philanthropic opportunities for women across generations.

You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, execute and implement a variety of Development programs and events; including, but not limited to, signature fundraising events, major donor events, Women’s Philanthropy educational, engagement and donor stewardship events.
  • Work closely with other departments that have clearly defined donor engagement opportunities to support fundraising needs as laid out in the total philanthropic plan of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Shalom Austin engagement professionals and Volunteer Director to promote, execute and evaluate programs and events.
  • Provide support to the Women’s Philanthropy Committee, including partnering with volunteer leaders to plan engagement and philanthropy events while also assisting in scheduling, meeting coordination, and annual planning and goal setting.
  • In partnership with Marketing Specialist, oversee all program and event related communication strategy including emails, social and other promotional mediums as well as communications for other assigned.
  • Manage stewardship systems for Women’s Philanthropy Giving Societies, including maintaining accurate lists for the annual honor roll, website recognition, and regular tracking to support ongoing donor communication.
  • Ensure that follow-up on all activities is pre-planned, prompt, and comprehensive.
  • Continually evaluate programming effectiveness and ROI.
  • Effectively track participation and provide qualifying information to frontline fundraisers to further engage donor prospects.
  • Maintain a strong social media presence for Women’s Philanthropy and create and manage email newsletters.
  • Coordinate logistics – venue, vendors, speakers, RSVPs, program materials, onsite execution, and budgets – for 10-15 events/year, including social, educational, volunteer, and philanthropic events.
  • Ability to work evenings and occasional Sundays for events or meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, program coordination, or community engagement.
  • A proven record of success in event management and relationship building.
  • Strong project management and attention to detail.
  • Understanding the complexity of the volunteer/professional relationship and success managing those relationships in an effective and professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to react or respond to stressful situations with diplomacy, tact and nuanced approaches.
  • Passionate commitment to the Jewish community and people.
  • Some knowledge of the Greater Austin community.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jewish values, history, culture and ideals.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
  • Must be available M-F, 9am to 5pm. May have occasional evening/weekend events outside of these hours.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment.
