Then we are offering you an exciting opportunity to join us as soon as possible as a PhD Student focusing on the d evelopment of generic physiologically based kinetic (PBK) models in the » In Silico Toxicology« department at our Hanover location.

As part of your doctoral research on the topic “Focus on the development of generic physiologically based kinetic (PBK) models for toxicology,” your responsibilities will include:

  • Further development of an existing PBK model at Fraunhofer ITEM
  • Integration of in vitro ADME parameters into the PBK model and analysis of the resulting uncertainties
  • Familiarization with the principles of exposure modeling
  • Integration of both modules

What you contribute

  • A completed university degree in computer science or a comparable science-related field, such as mathematics or bioinformatics
  • Interest in mathematical concepts, bioinformatics, as well as mass transport and mass balances
  • Proficiency in at least one of the common programming languages or software programs (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, R, KNIME, etc.)
  • Experience working with common database formats is an advantage
  • Good written and spoken English skills are advantageous, as the work is part of an EU project

  • The position is initially limited to 2 years – however, we are looking towards long-term employment.
