The Cloud Content Security Lab at Helsinki Research Center is dedicated to driving technological advancements to protect the online safety of Huawei mobile users in Harmony OS ecosystem. We build advance AI detection solutions to ensure content safety and AI safety such as harmful/malicious content detection, agentic AI safety, machine unlearning. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Scholars and Interns with a solid track record of solving challenging problems, advancing state-of-the-art, and passion for ground-breaking research that could be scaled to production environment with an emphasis on the intersection of AI and Security.

We are now offering paid Visiting Scholars and Internship positions to talented researchers interested in working on the following topics:

1. Data Quality and Engineering

2. Secure Agentic AI System

3. Faithful Explanation Towards Human Reasoning

4. Multimodal Knowledge Representation for Common Sense and Cultural Reasoning (conversational system)

5. LLM Steering towards desired outputs and avoid unintended consequences.

6. LLM Safety Alignment

7. Data Attribution for improving Model Performance

Please state the topic that you are interested to work on in your application.

Qualifications:

• Assistant Professor, Postdoc, recent PhD graduate, and PhD student in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.

• Strong research experience in one or more of the listed topics.

• Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python.

• A passion for AI research and a commitment to ethical and Safe AI development.

• Experience with security-related research or projects is preferred.

• Candidates with ICPC, IOI/IMO, IOAI and other international competition in computer science, machine learning, and AI, etc. are highly preferred.

• Strong publication record in top conferences i.e., NeurIPS/AAAI/ACL/ CVPR/ICCV/ EMNLP/ NAACL, etc.

• Good teamwork, enjoy working with multi-cultures team, passionate in challenging the status quo.

Duration:

Visiting scholar positions and Internships will be offered for 3-6 months, with a possible extension. The program runs with immediate effect until December 31, 2026.
