Are you passionate about sound and physics-based simulations? Join us as a research associate and lead cutting-edge research into the synthesis of virtual urban acoustics for urban design assessment. This is your chance to work at the forefront of computational modeling and simulation.

The Institute for Building Physics works application-oriented in all current areas of building physics and is engaged in research, development, testing, demonstration, and consulting in the fields of Acoustics, Energy Efficiency and Indoor Climate, Life Cycle Engineering, Hygrothermics: Moisture and thermal Control, as well as Inorganic Materials and Recycling, Environment, Hygiene and Sensor Technology.

The Acoustics Department researches in the areas of Building Acoustics, Digital and sustainable Acoustics, Noise Control and Vehicle Acoustics, Human-Centered Acoustic Design and User Research, Musical and Photo Acoustics, Urban and Architectural Acoustics.

What you will do

- You develop efficient approaches to simulating complex urban architectural sound environments.

- You achieve plausible auralizations of urban sound simulations.

- By linking your developments with those of other employees and projects, you contribute to the activities of the research group.

What you bring to the table

- Completed university degree (Master) in electrical engineering with a focus on computer science or a similar or comparable degree

- Expertise in CAD, 3D modeling

- Basics of acoustics

- Good knowledge of Python, C/C++ and MATLAB for computer science

The weekly working time is 19.5 hours. A different weekly working time may also be possible. The position is initially limited to three years.
