Job Details

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Responsibilities:

  • Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation
  • Identifies medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications
  • Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
  • Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date
  • Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations
  • Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, College courses desirable
  • Pharmacy Technician Certificate required
  • New York State License required
  • Basic computer skills
  • 2 – 3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required

Salary Range

USD $38.19 - USD $38.19 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
