Job Description

Schedule:

  • Candidate must have the availability to work between 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM

  • Monday to Friday - 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM

  • Weekend and Holiday Rotation Required - 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM

  • Every 3rd Weekend Rotation

  • Holiday Rotation - One major, one minor

Provides technical support for outpatient pharmacy with the processing of prescription orders along with preparation and dispensing of patient medications within the three outpatient pharmacies.

Essential Functions:

  • Accepts prescriptions, establishes billing/patient charges, documents patients’ allergies correctly, interprets and enters information regarding the outpatient prescription into the computer system.
  • Serves as call center agent; answers the telephone and assists caller or forwards to appropriate individual (pharmacist, pharmacy administration, etc.).
  • Prepares and packages medications for outpatient use.
  • Independently resolves on-line adjudication problems with third party payors.
  • Replenishes pharmacy stock area and notifies inventory coordinators of concerns.

Education Requirement:

As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement.

Licensure Requirement:

Board of Pharmacy Technician License (Registered or Certified) Technician Trainee accepted with expectation of incumbent to become registered or certified within 90 days of hire.

Certifications:

Certification as a pharmacy technician or documented passing score on certification exam prior to start date (CPhT, ExCPT), required.

Skills:

Demonstrated skills in algebra by passing score on math competency administered on site.

Experience:

Six months of previous pharmacy experience, preferred.
