Job Description

Make a difference—where it matters most

At Cincinnati Children’s, every medication prepared, every dose delivered, and every detail checked contributes directly to a child’s outcome.

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you’re not just supporting operations—you’re part of a high-performing clinical team working behind the scenes to ensure safe, timely, and life-changing care for patients and families.

Why Cincinnati Children’s?

You’ll join a nationally recognized pediatric health system where:

  • We are consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the country
  • Innovation, research, and patient care go hand-in-hand
  • Collaboration isn’t a buzzword—it’s how we deliver better outcomes every day

Here, your work is more than technical—it’s purpose-driven

This isn’t just a job—it’s your opportunity to help change the outcome for kids and families.

Why this role, and why now?

Clinical pharmacy teams are critical to safe, efficient care delivery—and demand for skilled technicians continues to grow.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Play a direct role in patient safety and medication accuracy
  • Work in a fast-paced inpatient environment where every shift makes an impact
  • Build hands-on experience that can expand into advanced pharmacy or clinical roles

Whether you’re early in your career or looking to deepen hospital experience, this is a place where you can grow quickly and meaningfully.

What you bring

  • Pharmacy technician certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hospital or retail pharmacy experience
  • A detail-oriented, team-first mindset

What you’ll do (what your day really looks like)

You’ll rotate through key areas of the inpatient pharmacy, working closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to:

  • Prepare and distribute medications accurately and efficiently
  • Support medication delivery for patient-specific doses across units
  • Replenish automated dispensing cabinets and maintain inventory
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and care teams to ensure quality and safety

This is hands-on, detail-driven work where accuracy, teamwork, and urgency matter.

What you’ll gain

  • Competitive pay and shift differentials
  • Day-one health benefits
  • Tuition support and ongoing education opportunities
  • Exposure to advanced hospital pharmacy operations and technology
  • The opportunity to grow your career within one of the top pediatric systems in the country

Most importantly:

  • You care about doing things the right way
  • You take pride in work that directly supports patient care

The bottom line

If you want to be part of a team where your work truly matters—and where you can grow, learn, and contribute to something bigger—

You can do it here.
