Days (United States of America)Supports the daily activities of the inpatient pharmacy to provide quality patient care and customer service. A positive, patient-centered, team-oriented attitude and will develop and implement ideas to maintain a high level of teamwork and morale. Collaborate with Pharmacy Manager and Shift Coordinators to continually revise, and implement improvements to Pharmacy Technician training program; evaluate Pharmacy Technician performance to identify areas of improvement, intervene, and educate to eliminate deficiencies; review pharmacy workflow and suggest potential changes; prepare Pharmacy Technician schedule; effectively and efficiently manage Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technician Specialists; ensure pharmacy has the tools and resources necessary to be successful.

Proficient or in process of gaining proficiency in all Pharmacy Technician roles, including those of the Pharmacy Technician Specialists
Precepts new Pharmacy Technicians and ensures timely completion of all required orientation items
Collaborate with Pharmacy Manager to develop, review, and implement training program for Pharmacy Technicians
Develop and monitor reports and audits to determine short-comings of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Technician Specialists, and pharmacy operations and provides education, changes, and new initiatives to resolve any identified deficiencies.
Provides routine feedback to Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technician Specialists regarding attendance; punctuality; professionalism and job performance
Inspects and maintains outpatient prescription system
Prepares the Pharmacy Technician schedule and make revisions as necessary
Assists in daily duties of technicians including reallocation of staff to account for changes in workload or shortages and fill in, when necessary, to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
Completes timely annual evaluations for pharmacy technicians
Other duties as assigned
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s degree in health care related field required within 18 months of hire
Bachelor's degree preferred
Registered as Pharmacy Technician with the NCBOP
Certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT)
1-year of experience as an inpatient pharmacy technician within the Health System required
Level II or Specialty Pharmacy Technician experience required
Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred
Excellent guest relations skills
Verbal and written skills required
Ability to read English
Ability to accept supervision from a multidisciplinary team
Flexible in approach to work tasks and schedules
Able to grasp new skills and techniques
Has basic knowledge of age-specific considerations for patients served
Has basic computer skills
Visual acuity to read invoices, requisitions, emails, medication labels, paperwork, etc.
Hearing and speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers, both in-person and via telephone
Ability to move through pharmacy and facility to assess and manage operations
Manual dexterity to operate computer, printer, copier, fax machine, etc.
Ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending, reaching high places, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling
Lift up to 30 pounds for processing shipments
Ability to climb flights of stairs
Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking required
