
The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, is seeking a 100% pharmacy technician to join our ACT Pharmacy team. Under general supervision of the pharmacist, coordinates and performs the technical activities of the ACTS Pharmacy location. Under general supervision of technician supervisor, carries out activities supportive of development, coordination, and training of assigned areas. Provides functional supervision as required. This pharmacy location performs high-volume central fill and mail dispensing on behalf of all UI Health Care Ambulatory Pharmacies. Additionally, the pharmacy also performs medication adherence packaging services using an automated packaging machine, non-sterile compounding, and home delivery of prescriptions. ACTS has an open-door pharmacy for patients to pick up medications directly from this location.
Non-certified technicians must achieve certification within 1 year of employment. Valid drivers license is required.
This position will work 8-hour shifts scheduled between the hours of 6:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday-Friday, and 0800-1630 up to every other weekend. Occasional holidays may be required.
Position Responsibilities:

Certified Technician:
Trainee Technician:
Registered with the Pharmacy Board at the time of hire.
All pharmacy technicians must be certified within one year of employment.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience:
Any combination of two years of post-high school experience and/or education in the natural sciences OR
Satisfactory completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives
