Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in selection and preparation of medications for physician orders, stocking supplies, maintaining clean work environment, correctly delivering medications, and assuring medication barcodes are scanned correctly. You will report to the Director.
Primary Tasks:
1. Order, verify receipt of, and store pharmaceuticals and supplies using generic, brand names and warehouse index numbers.
2. Check incoming stock orders, complete receiving reports, ascertains damage, overage or shortage and complete reports.
3. Assist pharmacist in providing medication, drug information and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
4. Perform monthly inspections of clinic care areas to check for outdated pharmaceuticals, proper storage conditions and appropriate stock levels.
5. Inventory control tasks including monitoring, pricing, dating, invoicing, stocking, and preparation of purchase orders.
6. Maintain supplies of working stock in the outpatient pharmacy to complete requisitions.
7. Rotate stock in pharmacy and on nursing units to assure maximum usage of dated stock.
8. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED
· Current Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician license or;
· Willingness to undergo Phase I Technician training and obtain pharmacy technician license within 30 days of hire
